Good Faith EstimateFederal Law requires that anyone seeking care outside of their insurance, or out-of-network with their insurance be provided with a 'good faith estimate' for service. With mental health services, it is extremely difficult to estimate the types of treatment needed or the length of service prior to meeting the client. For ease of use, I have estimated 8 sessions. This may or may not be what it suggested in your treatment plan.
"Expected Charges: The amount below is only an estimate; it isn’t an offer or contract for services. This estimate shows the full estimated costs of the items or services listed. It doesn’t include any information about what your health plan may cover. This means that the final cost to you for services may be different than this estimate. Contact your health plan to find out if your plan will pay any portion of these costs, and how much you may have to pay out-of-pocket. Your treatment may require up to 8 sessions over 12 months. At $155 per session for 8 sessions, it is estimated that you could have to pay $1,240.00. This estimate is good until January 1, 2023. This estimate is based on information that was known at the time it was created. " We'll discuss this document and several others if we decide to meet for an initial session, or intake appointment. |
